At the April 22 regular Board meeting, the BCS Board approved a resolution to recognize the week of April 27 to May 3 as National Volunteer Recognition Week.  According to President Rust, "Volunteers provide significant contributions in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular programs.  We should recognize and thank them for their willingness to share their time and talents in support of our district's needs."
The board also approved a resolution to recognize the week of May 4 to May 10 as Teacher Appreciation Week to recognize the hard work and dedication of the B-C-S professional staff.
The Oak Harbor's Girls Varsity Basketball team was recognized by the Board for their outstanding academic achievement.  With an average cumulative grade point average of 3.825, the team placed sixth out of seventy-five teams in the state that were nominated for academic success.
Board commendations were also presented to Carroll Township Trustees, John Verb, Don St. Clair, and Rich Keiser, thanking them for their continued support and association with the Carroll Elementary school.
