June 26, 1940-April 19, 2008 Janet I. Minke, 67, died April 19, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born in Fremont, OH, June 26, 1940 to Clarence and Charlotta (Wendt) Grodi of Port Clinton. Janet had the most prestigious job a woman could have, one of wife and mother and she did her job well. She belonged to Messiah Lutheran Church, Chrysler Classic Car Club, and the Independent Order of Foresters. Janet was a 1958 graduate of Port Clinton High School. Janet's heart and soul was embedded in the time spent with her husband of 49 years, children and grandchildren, for they were her most prized delight. Janet is survived by her loving husband John "Jack" Minke Sr, sons John (Potty) Jr., David (Candy) and Bruce (Kimberly) Minke; grandchildren Caitlin, Robert Meaghan, Candice and Lauren and her brother James (Connie) Grodi of Port Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation was held on April 22 at David R. Jasin Funeral Home, Inc, Toledo, OH, (419-726-1583). A memorial service was held at the funeral home.
