Annie R. Tuttamore, daughter of Bill and Lois Tuttamore, has recently signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Taylor University Fort Wayne (TUFW) for the 2008 season.
Tuttamore is a senior at Danbury High School in Lakeside/Marblehead. She is a three-year varsity volleyball letter winner and has been on the All-Academic Team for the Toledo Area Athletic Conference (TAAC) for the past two seasons. She also received the academic award for her team in 2006 and the Coaches Award during the 2007 season. Tuttamore's coach for the past two seasons has been Drew Wicks. Danbury is a Division IV school.
"The 2008 roster will need to include a setter and an outside hitter along with some depth. Annie Tuttamore will be one of several outside hitters competing for a starting position," said head coach Scott Haddix. "Annie has a great attitude and I like what I saw from her. Graduating seniors have to learn to play at a quicker pace with even fewer errors. We'll have to see who learns those lessons the quickest and with the greatest comprehension. Annie has the intelligence that's for certain."
Taylor University Fort Wayne provides a Christ-centered learning experience based on three core distinctives - Spiritual Formation, Applied Learning and Community Leadership Development - which interact to help shape a student's calling. More than 1,000 students access TUFW's responsive curriculum through residential, online, adult and blended delivery models. New program development and the strengthening of existing programs are driven by industry needs. Purposeful learning takes students out of the classroom to engage with the community, providing significant work experiences and stories to tell their employers. The total TUFW experience fosters the transformation of students and restoration of communities.
