Ohio Bike Week Is Back With Ridin', Rockin', & Racin' PDF Print E-mail

This year's pirate themed bike rally is to include the thrill and excitement of fireworks and incredible "flame cannons" with the attractions of the Ohio Women Rider's Symposium (featuring the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum's "Women in Motorcycling" display), antique bike displays, bike shows, poker runs, Jay Allen's Broken Spoke Saloon, an AMA Dirt Track Race and the AHDRA Drag Racing Nationals.
This annual event features daily live entertainment, vendors and many more terrific shows and attractions.  This excitement-filled week includes activities planned around not only Sandusky and its tourist attractions; but the five county region surrounding the area, including Kelleys and Put-in-Bay Islands. 
Friday, June- 6- KICK START PARTY featuring Full Contact Musical Chairs with the Burning River Roller Derby Girls, live bands and bike builders at Roeder-Harley Davidson on Rt. 250 in Sandusky.  Another attraction is the "Battle of the Bands" at the Erie County Fairgrounds' Broken Spoke Saloon.
Saturday, June 7- TED NUGENT performs live at the Erie County Fairgrounds' Rockin' Horse Arena (ticket required for admission to concert).  An ABATE swap meet will also be held at the Fairgrounds, and an Antique Bike Display will be featured in Downtown Norwalk.
Sunday, June 8- TRAVIS TRITT performs live at the Erie County Fairgrounds' Rockin' Horse Arena as part of "All Country Sunday"  (ticket required for admission to concert).  Other events include: A Celebrity Builder Charity Ride & Breakfast and Harley-Davidson Factory Demo Rides at Roeder-Harley Davidson on Rt. 250.  A Scavenger Hunt, Pirate Party and Pig Roast will take place on Put-in-Bay Island and the AMA Sanctioned George Roeder / Don Martin Memorial Dirt Track Race will be a featured event at the Huron County Fairgrounds in Norwalk, OH.
Monday, June 9- Take a scenic ride on the "Morgan's Revenge Poker Run" then return to the Rockin' Horse Arena for the Jam Band Night including "The Werks" and national act "Ekoostik Hookah" (ticket required for admission to concert).
Tuesday, June 10- Tour the historic Mansfield Reformatory as party of today's destination rides.  Head out for the Rhumb Line Run and Milan Car Show, or enjoy the festivities at the Rockin' Horse Entertainment Complex.  Tonight's feature event is Roeder Harley-Davidson's Rolling Bike Nite (www.rollingbikenite.com) with a free live performance by Jimmie Van Zant at the Rockin' Horse Arena.
Wednesday, June 11- Bring the family for Thrill Night at the Erie County Fairgrounds!  Watch Rhett Rhotten as he attempts to shatter a World Record of more than 7 hours and 13 seconds with a Death Defying Ride In The Wall Of Death (wallofdeathinc.com)!   Later, watch the Motorcycle Demolition Derby, Ball of Steel, and Freestyle Stunt Riders in the Rockin' Horse Arena (ticket required for show admission).  Additional activities include the 2nd Annual Kelleys Island Poker Run, ABATE Biker Games, and Entertainment at multiple locations throughout the day.
Thursday, June 12- Daytime activities include the "Pirates in History Gallery Chase", Bikini & Ring Girl Contest at the Comfort Inn - Sandusky, and the first of three block parties in the streets of downtown Sandusky.  Tonight's Block Party attendees can enjoy AHDA Nitro Night with appearances by the AHDRA Drag Racers and a spectacular Free Concert Featuring National Act "Saliva."
Friday, June 13- The Rockin' Horse (Erie County Fairgrounds) will host the ABATE Bike Show, EFC mixed martial arts cage fight (ticket required for admission to fight), and a variety of entertainment.  Ladies visiting Ohio Bike Week can explore the "Women & Motorcycling: No Limits!" Symposium downtown at the Sandusky State Theatre for women-focused vendors, demonstrations, and more.  A second night of Block Party entertainment, street performers, and vendor exhibits will fill the streets of downtown Sandusky, keeping rally attendees entertained until midnight.
Saturday, June 14- June 14th kicks off two-days of phenomenal nitro racing excitement with the AHDRA Ohio Bike Week Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH.  Downtown Sandusky features more Entertainment, Vendors, a Children's Play Area and Historic WWII Vehicle Display for daytime spectators and Roeder-Harley Davidson - Monroeville will host their annual Founder's Day Party where guests can stage their motorcycles for the annual Ohio Bike Week Parade.  The parade lands in downtown Sandusky for one Massive Block Party featuring the world famous "Earthquakers" and many others to help the packed in crowd rock the night away!
Sunday, June 15- The week-long event winds down with the AHDRA Finals in Norwalk, the last event of Ohio Bike Week.  Those interested in attending can stop by Shifters Grill (next door to Roeder H-D, Sandusky) for the Sunday Breakfast & Ride To The Races and a last visit to the dealership before heading out of town till 2009.
