Richard Edward Snyder, 69, of Port Clinton, died Sunday March 30, 2008 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.  He was born December 28, 1938 in Sandusky, the son of Edward L. and Delores M. "Dee" (Snider) Snyder.

Richard was a print operator at Uniroyal for over 30 years.  He was a member of the Elk's Lodge and Moose Lodge of Port Clinton.  He coached his daughters' softball team and was an avid bowler.

Jim Robel, 81, of Lakeside, died Monday March 24, 2008 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.  He was born September 22, 1926 in Marblehead, the son of Steven and Mary (Chura) Robel.
Jim retired from Scandura in 1988.  He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy.  He was a member of the VFW Post 7572 in Marblehead where he served the office of quartermaster and was past Commander.  Jim was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Tin Can Sailors.

Aloysius J. "Al" Ontko, 85, of Marblehead, Ohio, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on August 22, 1922 in Marblehead, the son of the late Frank and Anna (Adams) Ontko.
Al was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served his country during WWII. On November 26, 1949, he married Genevieve Glovinsky, and she preceded him in death on February 11, 2008. He worked as a millwright at General Motors-New Departure in Sandusky until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead; member of the VFW Post #7572, Marblehead and also a member of the American Legion Post #83, Sandusky.

Raymond J. Nathe, 88, of Marblehead, Ohio died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Browning Masonic Assisted Living Center, Waterville, Ohio. He was born on June 12, 1919 on a farm in Sargent County, North Dakota, the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Schoenborn) Nathe. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Corps-8th Air Force, 2nd Air Division, Navigator (B-24's 30 Missions) to targets in Romania, Germany, DFC. On June 19, 1946, he married Ruth Brorstrom. They lived in Pleasantville, New York for 37 years before retiring to Marblehead, Ohio.

PFC Robert P. Lorek III and wife Ana, stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska, announce the birth of their first child, Alexis Kay Jean Lorek.  Born March 29, 2008, at 6 pounds 1 ounce and 17 in. long.  Robert is scheduled for deployment to Iraq in September.  Robert & Ana have made his mother, Jacquelyn J. Bouska, of Danbury Twp. a VERY proud Grandparent for the first time!  Great Grandparents are Dan & Barbara Bouska, also of Danbury Twp, making this their 9th Great Grandchild.
