The lucrative $2.49 million 2008 Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour will hold its first of four qualifying events on Lake Erie in Port Clinton April 16-19. The $461,500 tournament presented by Yamaha and hosted by the Ottawa County Visitors Bureau, will feature 300 anglers from 26 states and national television coverage on FSN (Fox Sports Net).

Mandatory CSP Workshops Scheduled for Farmers PDF Print E-mail

Producers who farm in the Sandusky River watershed (Muddy Creek sub-watershed), and are interested in signing up for the newly announced Conservation Security Program (CSP), must attend one of the following workshops in order to apply to the program. A farmer must go through an interview with the local Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) office to determine eligibility for CSP. Interviews will only be scheduled with people who have attended one of the workshops.

The fifteenth annual Lake Erie Wing Watch Weekend returns to BGSU Firelands College in Huron April 11 - 13.  This weekend of educational and entertaining activities for birding enthusiasts is a cooperative effort sponsored by the Erie and Ottawa counties' visitor and convention bureaus, and county, state and private conservation organizations.

With spring officially here, it's time to welcome back Pro and Co-anglers for several upcoming tournaments.  On Saturday, April 12th the Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors Walleye League will kick-off the Sportfishing Tournament Season taking off at West Harbor Launch Ramp, Catawba Island beginning at 7 a.m.  A weigh-in will be held at Water Works Park in Port Clinton starting at 3 p.m.
