ImageRobert “Bob” Armbruster, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24, at Firelands Hospital while under hospice care, with his three children at his side. Son of Bernard and Esther (Brandt), he grew up on Catawba Island and in Port Clinton, marrying his high school sweetheart. He was living at Otterbein North Shore in Lakeside Marblehead.

Sandra S. Horton (nee Haas), 67, formerly of LaGrange and Marblehead, OH, died April 22, 2008 in Libertyville, Illinois, where she's been a resident since 2006.
She was born June 8, 1940 in Lodi, OH and graduated from Wakeman High School in 1958.
Sandra is survived by daughters Faye (Kurt) Wilcox of Wadsworth, Illinois; Cherie (Brian) Bose of Pembine, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren and a stepbrother Norman Gehring of Aurora, Colorado.

Janet I. Minke, 67, died April 19, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born in Fremont, OH, June 26, 1940 to Clarence and Charlotta (Wendt) Grodi of Port Clinton.
Janet had the most prestigious job a woman could have, one of wife and mother and she did her job well. She belonged to Messiah Lutheran Church, Chrysler Classic Car Club, and the Independent Order of Foresters. Janet was a 1958 graduate of Port Clinton High School.

James Edward Lannen, 81, of Port Clinton, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton.  He was born May 13, 1926 in Fostoria, the son of Albina and Joseph Lannen.
Jim was a graduate of St. Wendelin High School in 1944.  He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1944-46.  He was employed with the Commercial Bank and Savings Co in Fostoria from 1944-55.  He joined the American Bank in Port Clinton as an assistant cashier in 1955 and was promoted to Executive Vice President in 1974.

Alfred H. Brandenburg, 73, of Catawba Island and formerly of Chicago died April 24, 2008 at his residence. He was the beloved husband to  Esther J. (Nickel), father to Allen Robert, Steven Alfred, Bryan  Kenneth; beloved brother to Leona Dorenkott, Ted Brandenburg and Pauline Szarka. He had many adored nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
