Couple To Celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary |

Eugene (Bud) and Shirley LaCumsky of 713 Taft Street, Port Clinton are
celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Their children and
grandchildren are hosting a reception for them. The couple was married
on April 12, 1958 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Danbury by Pastor
Brandt of St. John's, Port Clinton.

Laurie A. Duty, 29, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Monday, March 31,
2008 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH after a long courageous
battle with cancer. She was born in Toledo, OH on September 16, 1978.
Laurie worked as a bartender at the Port Clinton Elks Lodge #1718 and
as a receptionist at Marina Del Isle. She was a member of the Port
Clinton Elks and worked for many of the fraternal organizations in Port
Clinton. She enjoyed playing pool.

Richard Edward Snyder, 69, of Port Clinton, died Sunday March 30, 2008
at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. He was born December 28,
1938 in Sandusky, the son of Edward L. and Delores M. "Dee" (Snider)
Snyder.
Richard was a print operator at Uniroyal for over 30 years. He was a
member of the Elk's Lodge and Moose Lodge of Port Clinton. He coached
his daughters' softball team and was an avid bowler.

Jim Robel, 81, of Lakeside, died Monday March 24, 2008 at Stein Hospice
Care Center in Sandusky. He was born September 22, 1926 in Marblehead,
the son of Steven and Mary (Chura) Robel.
Jim retired from Scandura in 1988. He was a veteran of WWII serving in
the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the VFW Post 7572 in Marblehead
where he served the office of quartermaster and was past Commander.
Jim was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of
Columbus and the Tin Can Sailors.

Aloysius J. "Al" Ontko, 85, of Marblehead, Ohio, died Tuesday, March
25, 2008 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky,
Ohio. He was born on August 22, 1922 in Marblehead, the son of the late
Frank and Anna (Adams) Ontko.
Al was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served his
country during WWII. On November 26, 1949, he married Genevieve
Glovinsky, and she preceded him in death on February 11, 2008. He
worked as a millwright at General Motors-New Departure in Sandusky
until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic
Church, Marblehead; member of the VFW Post #7572, Marblehead and also a
member of the American Legion Post #83, Sandusky.
