In 2004, the Marblehead Village Council along with the Ohio Department
of Natural Resources held the first Daisy Day event at the preserve.
Local and State officials were on hand to celebrate the Lakeside Daisy
Preserve Open House. Naturalists were at the site during the day to
give visitors tours and information about the flower and the preserve.

I am pleased to be contributing another article in a series written by
Marblehead village officials. I am the Vice Chairman of the Planning
Commission for the Village of Marblehead. My position on the Planning
Commission is an appointed, rather than elected one. After I responded
to an advertisement of the open position in the Peninsula News, Mayor
Jacqueline Bird appointed me. Subsequently, the Commission elected me
to serve as Vice-Chairman.

being a part of the processes that govern the development and uses of
property in the village. On a personal note, I am a software engineer
with 25 years experience and work out of a home office.

State of the Village of Marblehead |

Tuesday, 29 January 2008 |
January 2008 marks the 117th Anniversary of the incorporation of the
Village of Marblehead. From day one in 1891 to our present status, our
Village remains a prominent commonwealth for both residents and
visitors.
As I begin my second term as Mayor, I reflect back to when I first
became a Council Member in 1997. Then, as is now, I consider myself
fortunate to have followed in the footsteps of such dedicated
Administrations over the years that helped form our community. Their
leadership, dedication and set standards produced a strong municipality
that will sustain future generations. Any elected official who has
served, or currently is serving, has done so with the best interest of
the Village in mind. I am proud to say that this legacy continues as I
look at our current Administration and employees.
