I agree that a monstrosity of a water park on our shore is a terrible
idea. I was thrilled, and not surprised to find that the Puller Group
pulled out. I do not, however, agree that tourism is a bad thing.
A town as beautiful and idyllic as Port Clinton should be shared and
flaunted. I challenge you to name an area of our country as wonderful
that has not been visited by travelers. This is not something that
should be considered pitiful. This is something that makes our town
desirable to others in Ohio and neighboring states.

On May 7 and 8 the Danbury Township Police Department successfully
hosted a training session which was held at the Marina Del Isle Marina
complex. This beneficial training was attended by many law enforcement
officers and law enforcement support personnel from the area, and was
supported by the Danbury Township Board of Trustees.

I have for 60 years been either on the receiving end or the giver of
corrective criticism. After all, it is the very circumstance that makes
us want to improve our deciduousness. So please Mrs. Mayor and members
of Port Clinton city council, don't take this personally, but who's
stupid idea was it to implement the plan of overcharging the people to
go out on the Waterworks Park pier area with their vehicles? You are
forcing families that want to attend ball games there to park on Adams
Street. and take chances crossing a very busy Perry Street. Or you make
them use the parking lot by the Derby Pond and walk across the uneven
ground to the ball diamond, without any consideration for the elderly
or the handicapped.

This letter is in regards to the recent water line project on Buckeye
Blvd. Our business is located at 333 and 335 Buckeye Blvd. I would not
normally write a letter of complaint but I feel the issue I will
present needs to be addressed so that other residents or business
owners will not have to deal with the problems we encountered. I would
like to state that I am all for infrastructure improvements in Port
Clinton. There is an obvious need throughout Port Clinton. Furthermore
I also understand that these types of improvements will cause some
inconvenience to those affected. What I do not understand is the total
lack of communication on the part of the city with, in this case, the
business owners on Buckeye Blvd.

The Ottawa County Horse Foundation would like to thank everyone who
supported our 1st Annual Tack Sale. It was a great success, and we are
already looking forward to our 2nd Annual Tack Sale. The funds raised
will be used to help pay for the wash rack already under construction
at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds. We are excited about this project and
hope the 4-H kids using it in July during the fair will also enjoy it.
We would like to especially thank the following businesses who donated
raffle items; Sonseeahray Western & English Store, Home Town
Buffet, Wild Wings Restaurant & Lounge, Maumee Bay State Park and
Jackie Kohlman of Home and Garden Party.
