Playmakers Civic Theatre announces open auditions for the heartwarming
comedy On Golden Pond on Monday and Tuesday, May 19 & 20, 7:30pm,
at the theatre, 604 West Sixth Street, Port Clinton.
On Golden Pond, by Ernest Thompson, is the loving story of Norman(80)
and Ethel(70) Thayer as they spend their forty-eighth summer at their
cottage in Maine.

Ottawa County welcomes back one of Ohio’s premier vocal groups and a
Vacationland favorite – High Street A Cappella. Based in Columbus,
Ohio, High Street A Cappella is a contemporary men’s octet with a wide
repertoire ranging from baroque, classical, and contemporary choral
music to rock, pop and jazz. They were crowd favorites at the 2004,
2005, and 2006 OSU/Port Clinton Performing Arts Festival, and they
enchanted revelers at the last two New Year’s Eve Walleye Drop events.

 What timing! With the 2008 US Presidential Campaign in full swing,
pitting McCain against Hillary and Barack, Port Clinton area
theatre-goers will have a chance to participate in their own Election
Campaign by U.S. Senator "Honest" Gabby Sandalson. On May 8th Gabby
will be campaigning in Sluckup, PA where he is overnighting at the
historic Sluckup Inn. With him is his campaign manager, Tom Gordon, and
of course the Inn's proprietor, Chauncy Quince is their Host.

There will be a whole lotta shakin’, rattlin’ and rollin’ going on in
Port Clinton on Saturday, May 24 at 7:00 p.m., when Main Street Port
Clinton hosts the Elvis Extravaganza Impersonator Contest at the
Walleye Festival.
The contest is produced by The Elvis Extravaganza Fan Club. Founded in
1989 it has become the world’s largest Elvis Presley Fan Club.

Playmakers' production "The Senator Wore Pantyhose" - Pictured is "Nellie" (Morgan Parker) dropping her baby's diaper into the antique vase. A freshmen at PCHS, Morgan is active in the school's Drama Club. This farce finishes its run Thursday-Sunday, May 15-18.
