ImageMagruder Hospital recently held its annual employee recognition dinner to honor employees, medical staff and board members for years of dedicated service through the end of 2007.
Highlighting the evening was the announcing of Magruder's Employee of the Month awards for 2007, and that of those honorees, Dawn Shupp, a Registered Nurse in Magruder's Emergency Department, was selected as Employee of the Year. In announcing Shupp's award, Cliff Harmon, President & CEO, shared some comments from Shupp's nomination.

The April meeting for the Ottawa County Safety Council provided an opportunity for the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation to recognize local employers making significant improvements in Safety. Michelle Francisco was on hand to present the awards. Ottawa County Safety Council to Hosts OSHA Training PDF Print E-mail

Ottawa County Improvement Corporation is sponsoring an OSHA 10-Hour Training on May 14 and 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Community Resource Centre in Oak Harbor. Certified OSHA trainers will cover topics such as: Penalties, Citations and Record Keeping; Walking/Working Surfaces; Safety & Health Programs; Lockout/Tagout; Machine Guarding; Personal Protective Equipment; Hazard Communication; Means of Egress & Fire Protection; and Electrical. The former Toussaint Tavern near Davis Besse is now the home of Porky's Pizza Trof, originally located in Weston, Ohio. The restaurant features homemade, hand-tossed creations, including pizzas and subs, appetizers, Piggie bread and bones, salads, wings and burgers. Porky's Pizza Trof also has a full-service bar.

ImageKaren Hoover has been hired by Fairway Villas as a new sales manager.  Born and raised in Oak Harbor, the oldest of three, Karen attended Heidelberg College.  In her spare time, she enjoys kick boxing, fast boats, running, reading and shopping.  For ten years Karen worked for Dunn Chevrolet Buick in Oregon as Finance and Insurance Manger.  After leaving Dunn, she became a State Farm Agent selling insurance and financial services.
