For the second year in a row, the Oak Harbor wrestling team won the Sandusky Bay Conference duals with a perfect 7-0 team record. 
    SBC team standings were Oak Harbor (7-0), Perkins (6-1), Clyde (5-2), Sandusky St. Mary (4-3), Edison (3-4), Margaretta (2-5), Port Clinton (1-6), and Huron (0-7).
    Oak Harbor defeated Port Clinton 72-9, Edison 71-3, Clyde 51-25, Huron 78-3, St. Mary 60-11, Margaretta 71-6, and Perkins 54-15.
    Seven wrestlers finished the weekend with perfect 7-0 individual records. Jake Cramer, Drew Stone, Ian Miller, Kirk Tank, Mike Mallernee, Keith Witt and Cody Magrum all accomplished that goal this past weekend.

Redskins Bowlers Rally Past Vermilion PDF Print E-mail

Port Clinton Varsity Boys Bowling team fell behind by 144 pins after the first game(864-1107), but led by Senior J.J. Evans 212-268 rallied to win over Vermilion 3137-3104. Port Clinton rolled 1107 the 2nd game but only picked up 21 pins as the Sailors rolled a 1086. Jeremy Newton added 255 for the 'Skins. David Woods rolled 191-278, Bryan Buckosh 223-224, and Vito Nande 227-201 for the Sailors.

Image During the past month the Port Clinton Piranhas U.S.A. swim team participated in 2 U.S.A. santioned meets. The first was the Candy  Cane Classic in Sandusky. The swimmers all swam well with several personal best times. Standouts included MacKenzie Stewart and McKenzie Stine each with 4 individual 1st places, Alysia Zoeller with 3 1st places and a 3rd, and Gracey Stewart with 2 3rds a 7th and an 8th. The second meet was The Northwest Ohio Winter Invitational swam at the Bowling Green University Natatorium.

Lakers Win TAAC Road Game PDF Print E-mail

The Danbury boys' basketball team snapped a four game losing streak and avenged a season opening loss to Emmanuel Christian by defeating the Warriors by a score of 50-43.
"It was nice to get a victory on the road in the conference," said Head Coach Joe Miller.  "We rebounded well and played solid defense, which was the difference in the game. I was also very pleased with the way Junior Troy Hammersmith and Freshmen Hunter Stephens handled their starting assignments."

Local K of C to Sponsor Youth Free Throw PDF Print E-mail

All boys and girls, ages 10 to 14, are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2008 Knights of Columbus Youth Basketball Free Throw Championship.  The local competition will be held Sunday, February 3 at 1 p.m.., at St. Boniface School Gym with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m. under the supervision of Oak Harbor K of C Council No. 1944.
