The Port Clinton 8th grade girl’s basketball team earned the number one
seed in the upcoming Middle School basketball tournament. Their season
record is 10 wins and 2 losses. Their first tournament game will be
against Perkins on Monday, February 4th at Townsend Elementary School
near Castalia.
Members of the team include Teah Carnicom, Megan Chaffin, Meigan Day,
Natalie Eyink, Brooke Kelly, Megan Mallory, Haley Millinger, Sam
Mizener, Kenzie Payne, Laura Puffenberger, Alex Stephenson, and Halle
Weaver. Lacy Hager coaches the team with assistance from Walter
Wehenkel.

Skins Varsity Girls Roll On To 13-1 |

Port Clinton's Varsity Girls led by Hillary
Wertenbach's 157-172 and Morgan Meisler's 178-147 rolled over the
Vermilion Sailor Girls 2280-2045 at Lake Erie Lanes in Vermilion Saturday in a
nonconference match.The win raised the PC Girls to 13-1
on the season. "The Girls bowling right now is outstanding"
observed Coach Bob Black. "They
are working very hard and all are improving. Hillary and Morgan have really
stepped up lately."

PC Piranhas Swim Team Participates in Sanctioned Meets |

During the past month the Port Clinton Piranhas U.S.A. swim team
participated in two U.S.A. sanctioned meets. The first was the Candy
Cane Classic in Sandusky. The swimmers all swam well with several
personal best times.
Standouts included MacKenzie Stewart and McKenzie Stine each with four
individual 1st places, Alysia Zoeller with three 1st places and a 3rd
and Gracey Stewart with two 3rds a 7th and an 8th.

Plaque Presented to PC Board of Education |

At the January 22 Board of Education meeting, representatives from the Port Clinton High School Marching Band shared highlights from their December trip to Orlando, Florida with the PCHS Orchestra. Rod Miller, Director of Bands, Kayla Castillo and Brooke Fleming formally presented the plaque they received for marching in the Citrus Bowl Parade to the Board of Education.
The plaque will be placed inside of Port Clinton High School to commemorate their trip. Representatives from the band thanked the Board of Education for allowing them to go on the trip in coordination with School Board Recognition Month in January 2008.
