The Oak Harbor women's swimming and diving teams won the Gipe Relays on Saturday. Five Rocket relay teams won first place.

Winners were the fly-breast relay team (Megan Cervantes, Danielle Franck, Marlee Carpenter, and Justine Grover), the backstroke relay team (Bethany McNutt, Christie Andryc, Sam Reynolds, and Jenna Diekman), underwater relay team (Olivia Porter, Allie Reynolds, Sam Reynolds, and Andrea Behm), and the 400 free relay team (Andrea Behm, Olivia Porter, Erika Fall, and Jenna Diekman).

'Skins Boys Clinch SBABC Title PDF Print E-mail

Port Clinton's Varsity Boys Bowlers clinched the Sandusky Bay Area Bowling Conference Title by defeating Willard 2765-2461 at Harbor Lanes in Port Clinton Tuesday. Justin Netherland led PC to their 10th consecutive conference win with games of 207-227. Jared Dunn added 234 and Phillip Ashton 222. The 'Skins are 14-5 overall. This is the 2nd consecutive title for PC as an OHSAA sport, and 5th consecutive SBABC Conference Title or Conference Division Title overall. William Winiarski led Willard with 192-183, Josh Dille 200-173, and Jacob Reed 161-200.

Ashton and EvansPort Clinton Senior Co-Captain Bowlers Phillip Ashton and J.J. Evans have agreed to continue their bowling careers at Bowling Green it was announced Saturday by Bowling Green Coach Bill Wammes.

"They are accomplished players with good fundamentals" observed Coach Wammes. "They will be welcome additions to our program. They have good character and are good students which is what we are looking for," said Wammes.

Tory HorneThe Redskins are finally done with January, a month that has not been kind to them in recent years. They went 3-4 in January 2008, and fell out of the lead for the Sandusky Bay Conference Championship.
But all that changed on Friday night as they entertained their rivals from Oak Harbor, a programming rebuilding under former Rocket star Don Christie. They jumped on the Rockets for the first 15 points of the game and never looked back. Tory Horne has been coming on for a couple of weeks now and led the Redskins with 23 points.

PCHS Announces Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2008 PDF Print E-mail

The Port Clinton High School Athletic Hall of Fame has announced the Class of 2008 Inductees.  Brian Celek and Rod Gale will join the high ranks of PCHS Athletes inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday, May 31 at 5 p.m. at the Port Clinton Elks.  Ticket sales will be announced at a later date.
