Rocket wrestlers sixth at Maumee Bay Classic

Competing against some of the best northwest Ohio had to offer, Oak Harbor had another good showing at a major invitational, finishing sixth at the Maumee Bay Classic.

Delta won in convincing fashion, accumulating 228.5 points in the 37-team tournament. Wauseon was second with 185.5 points, just ahead of the host team, Clay, which had 185. Mechanicsburg was fourth with 177 points, followed by Central Crossing (170.5) and Oak Harbor (134.5).


Rocket wrestlers third out of 25 at PIT

Competing against some of the best teams in northwest Ohio, Oak Harbor proved its worth, finishing in third place at the Perrysburg Invitational Tournament.

The Rockets, behind second-place finishes from seniors Rhett Petersen and Brandon Garber, accumulated 154 points. Delta, which won the tournament and was the runner-up in Division III last season, won it going away, finishing with 253.5 points. The host school, Perrysburg, was second with 186.5 in the 25-team tournament. Wauseon finished fourth with 154 points, followed by Genoa (135), Centerville (123) and Napoleon (111).


Rockets place fourth out of 51 at MIT

In a tournament featuring some of the best Ohio has to offer, Oak Harbor proved its worth, finishing fourth out of 51 teams at the prestigious Medina Invitational Tournament.

Led by Bruce Hrynciw, who finished second at 120 pounds, the Rockets placed fourth with 149.5 points. Brunswick won with 174.5 points, followed by Olmsted Falls (157) and Wadsworth (154.5). A number of other area teams competed in the event, including Perkins and Genoa, who tied for seventh with 119.5 points.
