Lady Redskins win two over holidays

After starting the season 0-5, the Port Clinton Lady Redskins have won five of their last six games after defeating Lake and Milan Edison on back to back days over the holidays. Against the Lake Lady Fliers PC had to come from behind for the win. Lake took the lead after one quarter 15-14 and pulled out to a 26-18 at the half. The third quarter was a defensive battle that saw both teams make only one field goal each as PC won the quarter 6-3 to close the Lake lead to 29-24 after three quarters. In the fourth quarter PC outscored Lake 12 -6 and hung on for a 1 point victory.

Redskins get much needed win

Last Week:  Eastwood 51-Port Clinton 33, Port Clinton 46-Clyde 30

The Port Clinton Redskins had battled in their last four games, and while there were bright spots, a victory had eluded them. The Redskins brought the four game skid to an end with their best defensive effort of the season besting the Clyde Fliers 46-30. At the center of the Redskin defensive effort was senior Tytan Rumball. Rumball was primarily matched against Flier leading scorer Zach Reiman in a box and one defense and his effort helped hold Reiman scoreless for three periods. By that time, the Redskins had built a 14 point lead and had control of the game. The Redskins had jumped out to a quick 13-3 and never looked back as their defense did not allow Clyde to close the gap.

Big shot eludes Redskins, fall to Tigers

The Port Clinton Redskins had their chance down the stretch. The Huron Tigers twice missed one-and-one free throw attempts that kept PC alive with a chance to win at the buzzer. The buzzer beater three pointer that the Redskins were looking for would not fall and they were defeated by the Huron Tigers 41-39. Joey Brenner had a game high 16 points to lead the Redskins. PC has now lost three in a row, and by an average of 6 points per game.
