Mr. Puppet comes to ICS

The laughter was contagious and straight from the belly during a wonderful program presented by Ida Rupp Public Library at Immaculate Conception School in Port Clinton last Friday. Mr. Puppet delighted a gym full of students as he introduced some of his puppet friends and promoted the library’s Summer Reading Program entitled “Fizz, Boom, Read!” that kicks off on June 9. Fourth Grader Ryan Zam was given the title of “Benjamin Franklin Jr.” as he assisted Mr. Puppet is a routine full of science experiments, magic and good reference information about the library.

ICS announces Art Show winners

The Art Show at Immaculate Conception School in Port Clinton last weekend was a testament to the talent and creativity of the students at ICS. There were realistic pieces, sculptures, pottery pieces, weavings, and much more. Anyone who took the time to browse the art was amazed by the unique projects and the ability of the students. The art was judged last Friday by an outside artist and ribbons were awarded for first, second and third place. Several other pieces received “art achievement” ribbons for outstanding effort. Many pieces from the show will be sent to the Ottawa County Fair to be displayed and judged this summer. The show was organized by art teacher Joni Hoffman.
