Advent is a time of waiting

Waiting for Christmas can be so hard, especially when you are in preschool.  Miss Mary Heschel’s class has been busy getting ready for the big day.  Songs have been sung, trees have been decorated, ornaments have been made and stories have been read.  But, ICS preschoolers have taken time to learn about advent as a time to prepare our hearts for the birthday of Jesus.

Immaculate Conception Honors Veterans

Paige Reineck and Annabelle Barna present the flag at ICS's Veteran Day Mass.

Immaculate Conception School held its annual salute to Veterans Friday, November 7.   This year Veteran’s Day was celebrated with a Mass dedicated to the safety of our Military, but also gave thanks for the freedoms and peace we take for granted each and every day.  Students that participate in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts wore with pride their uniforms for this special celebration.

Mass began with the presentation of the flag by fifth grade students Paige Reineck and Anabelle Barna.  Father John Missler began Mass with a prayer of thanksgiving for the men and women who have worn the uniforms of our military and the sacrifices they have made.  The prayers of gratitude and petitions for safety, freedom, and peace continued throughout.  The National Anthem and “God Bless America” was led by Music Director, Mrs. Mary Krejci.

To all Veterans, the children and staff of Immaculate Conception wish to say thank you!
