Danbury girls tied for 1st place in the TAAC

With its 40-35 overtime win over Northwood, the Danbury girls basketball team improved to 4-3 overall and 4-0 in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference, good for first place.

The win came with the Lakers outscoring the Rangers, 6-1, in the extra session to claim victory. Katie Almendinger scored 11 points to lead Danbury, Tori Wright chipped in with eight and Stephanie Kukay finished with seven points.

Northwood's Megan Roach led all scorers with 17 points and teammate Doma Cruz had eight points.

Danbury boys notch first win of the season

Fostoria St. Wendelin outscored the Lakers, 34-10, in the first half on its way to a 57-32 win over Danbury.

Nick Shumaker led all scorers with 14 points and Brady Rutter chipped in with 10. Zak Miller had 12 to lead the Lakers and Chance Mackall finished with eight.

PC girls defeat St. Mary CC, improve to 6-0

Hope Thorbahn and Tiffany Colston helped the Port Clinton girls teams continue its winning ways by defeating St. Mary CC, 71-26, to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Thorbahn and Colston scored 14 points apiece as four Redskin players finished in double figures. Emily Ashley and Hannah Weaver also scored 10 points apiece to help pace Port Clinton (6-0, 3-0 SBC).

Hannah Snow led the Panthers with nine points.
