Oak Harbor defeats Danbury and Lakota

Oak Harbor Volleyball beat Danbury Saturday 25-6, 25-7.  Abby Dornbusch lead in assists with 13, Emma Bergman and Faith Konieczny lead in digs with 5 each.  Logan Harris lead in kills with 9 and Peyton Bloomer added 8.  Peyton Bloomer added 3 blocks and Annie Quisno and Logan Harris had 2 blocks each.  Faith Konieczny had 4 aces.


Polar Bears down Lakers 50-8

In their first road test of the season, the young Lakers got off to a slow start. The Lakers failed to field the first two kicks cleanly and they found themselves starting deep in their own territory. The Polar Bears were able to capitalize and turn Laker mistakes into 14 points with only two minutes off the clock. “I don’t know if they 5:00 start time had anything to do with it, but we were not mentally ready to play to start the game,” said Coach Keith Mora.


Lakers handle Whitney Young 32-8

The hard work of the off season was rewarded on opening night as the Danbury Lakers were victorious in Coach Keith Mora’s debut. Quarterback Justin Tibbels threw three touchdown passes to John Rhodes, and Tibbles also rushed for two TD’s as well to lead the Lakers.
