Ottawa County seniors gather for picnic

On Friday, August 7, Lakeview Park in Port Clinton was the place to be for the 10th annual Ottawa County senior picnic. Danbury, Oak Harbor and Port Clinton Senior Centers were represented as well as some seniors from the western end of the county. Employees from Magruder Hospital and the Ottawa County Health Department were on hand to give blood pressure and glucose readings. The picnic was put on by the City of Port Clinton with Ottawa County Senior Resources, City workers, City and County officials present and volunteering.


TNT Mentoring prepares for new school year and expands to Danbury

Dick Heller and Shanna Strouse are working to get the office for TNT (Till Next Time) Mentoring program organized for the 2015-2016 school year. Thanks to the Ohio Department of Education Community Connectors Grant, the mentoring program will be expanding to include Danbury Schools this year building on the success of the program at Port Clinton City Schools and Benton Carroll Salem Schools. This program also has the generous support of the United Way and the Ottawa County Juvenile Court.
