Danbury's Sam Tyson dives to tackle Tiffin Calvert running back Fred Fabrizio.

Coach Keith Mora was looking for his Danbury Laker squad to get off to a better start against Tiffin Calvert than they had the last two weeks. “We wanted to take their running game away from them,” said Mora and his young Lakers responded. The Laker defense held Calvert, a playoff contender the last few seasons, scoreless the first quarter. This included turning the Senacas away in the red zone, and the score was 0-0 at the end of the first. A much better first quarter showing by the Lakers.
