Lakers fall to Green Bears 37-14

Danbury's Brandyn Crownover picked up this loose ball and ran it for an apparent score, but the refs called the play back as the ball was ruled down in the red zone. Photos by John Kozak

For the Danbury Lakers, week six was a story of what could have been. Despite recovering two fumbles in Bear territory on Ottawa Hills’ first two plays in the first quarter and then driving to the Ottawa Hills five yard line in the second quarter, they were unable to come up with any points. It left Laker fans wondering how the game may have unfolded differently had they been able to jump to an early lead.

Lakers run over Stritch 41-25

Coach Keith Mora’s Danbury Lakers opened the game against the Cardinal Stritch Cardinals with an emphasis on running the ball. The young Lakers hit their running game in stride and never looked back.  Danbury rushed their way to five touchdowns by Justin Tibbels and 323 yards as a team on their way to a 41-25 victory. Tibbles rushed for 197 yards on 25 carries.  Sam Tyson added 107 yards on 20 carries.
