Destination: Excellence seminar from BWC held March 15

A free 90-minute seminar introducing Destination: Excellence is being offered March 15 in Oak Harbor from 9-10:30 a.m. Ohio BWC’s bundle of programs can help to increase workplace safety, improve injured worker care and lower workers’ compensation costs. It bundles many of the state’s services and strategies into programs.

Cramer wins Oak Harbor’s 22nd state wrestling title

Behind Luke Cramer’s first-place finish at 170 pounds, the Oak Harbor Rockets finished seventh at the Division II State Wrestling Meet with 44 points, the sixth time in seven years that the team has finished in the top-10 at the state meet.

Along with Cramer’s victory at 170, fellow senior Jared Chambers came in fifth at 152 and sophomore T.J. Lawrence was eighth in the heavyweight division (285).

Clyde 54, Oak Harbor 51

In a game that saw momentum switch hands a number of times in the second half, Clyde managed to weather the storm and answer every Oak Harbor rally to edge the Rockets, 54-51, in the Division II Sectional Semifinals at Clay High School.

Down 45-35 midway thru the fourth quarter, the Rockets staged a rally that started with a three-pointer by A.J. Cecil and ended with a Greg Haar triple to cut the deficit to 47-43 with 2:30 remaining.

After some back-and-forth possessions that didn’t net any points, Paul Cullen hit what appeared to be the dagger, connecting on a three-pointer out of the left corner with 1:01 remaining.
