Laker Athletic Boosters reverse raffle

The Danbury Laker Athletic Boosters will hold their 21st annual reverse raffle on Saturday, August 2, at St. Mary Social Hall in Marblehead. Grand prize for the night will be $10,000 cash along with other prizes being awarded throughout the night. Tickets are $120 which includes the raffle as well as a delicious prime rib and honey glazed chicken dinner. Additional dinner tickets may be purchased for $20.

This event always sells out, so those interested in attending are urged to get their tickets early. This is a major fundraiser for the boosters and supports the athletes of Danbury Schools, the anchor of our community.

Danbury 14U Baseball Team going to Regional League Championship Tournament

The Peninsula Youth Athletic League 14U Danbury youth baseball team sponsored by Tibbels Marina have had a very successful season in 2014.  They currently are undefeated during regular season play (15-0) and recently clinched the American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC) bid to the Regional Tournament in Cincinnati for the Rockets Little League. Communities in the Rocket Little League included Rossford, Northwood, Eastwood, Oregon, Eastwood, Oak Harbor, Fremont, and Port Clinton.
