Lakers lose to Margaretta

The Lakers fell to Margaretta, 72-40, in non-conference action last week.


The Polar Bears, who improved to 4-3 with the win, connected on 9 of 23 three-pointers. Brad Yates led Margaretta with 14 points and Tristen Scott finished with nine.

The Lakers got 13 points from Hunter Stinchcomb and Dominic Manuella finished with nine points.

Fostoria St. Wendelin 49, Danbury 37

Fostoria St. Wendelin took control outscoring the Lakers by 17 points in the second and third quarters before defeating Danbury 49-37 in non-conference action.

The Mohawks, who are now 2-4 on the year, got 17 points from Nick Root and Gabe Walters finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Holding a 7-4 lead after the first quarter, St. Wendelin began the second period on a 9-2 run to push the lead to 16-6 and, after leading 22-12 at the half, outscored the Lakers 12-3 to start the third period to put the game out of reach.

The Mohawks led 39-19 after three quarters before Danbury won the fourth quarter 18-10.

St. Wendelin connected on 15 of 23 free throws while the Lakers made just 5 of 11 shots from the charity stripe. 

Hunter Stinchcomb led Danbury with 12 points and five rebounds and Dominic Manuella finished 10 points.
