‘Skins lose first game of the season

In a back-and-forth game that saw momentum change hands numerous times, Margaretta outscored Port Clinton by 11 points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Redskins 75-62 in Sandusky Bay Conference action last Thursday.

Behind great performances from Dylan Bailey and Austin Spicer, the Polar Bears (2-1, 1-0 SBC) outscored Port Clinton 22-11 in the final period to take control of the game after entering the final eight minutes with a two-point lead.

Redskins guard Nathan Stubblefield had 25 points to lead his club and Stefan Daniels and Drew Fodor chipped in with nine and seven points.

The first half saw the ‘Skins take a 13-10 lead after one quarter before Margaretta rallied to take a 35-33 lead into the half before 25 second-quarter points.

It’s Port Clinton’s first loss of the season and drops them to 3-1 and 1-1 in the league.

Port Clinton travels to Sandusky to face St. Mary CC on Tuesday, hosts Perkins on Friday and Tiffin Columbian on Monday.
