Port Clinton drops close match to Perkins in tennis

The Lady Redskins lost a close match against Perkins 3-2 on Thursday afternoon.  This brings their record to 6-2 (2-1 in SBC).

Libby Showalter & Taylor Steyer (PC) def. Sabrina Nguyen & Priscilla Nguyen (P) 3-6, 6-4, 6-4

 “We knew this would be a difficult match, but this is a tough loss for us.  Tiffany and Alyssa played very well against solid opponents at first doubles,“ said Coach Lindsay Smith.  “They set up points nicely with Alyssa hitting consistent groundstrokes and Tiffany finishing the points at the net.  Things are really coming together for them.  Libby and Taylor had a very tough match at 2nd doubles.  Something clicked in the 2nd set and they were able to turn it around.  This was a good 3 set win for them.”

 PC JV won 4-0 with doubles wins by Molly Haberman & Alexis Cash, Meghan Gallogly & Shannon Gardner-Pumphrey, Madi Baxter & Emma Young, and Kassidy Mahler & Molly Haberman. 

 PC travels to Edison on Tuesday.
