Thomas L. Gahris Apr. 3, 1934-Mar. 27, 2017

Thomas L. Gahris, 82, of Lakeside-Marblehead, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, March 27, at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton. He was born on April 3, 1934, in Tiffin, OH, the son of Franklin J. and Mary Virginia (Walk) Gahris. On June 10, 1957 he married his life-long sweetheart June (Cole) and she survives.

Tom graduated in 1952 from Tiffin Columbian High School, and from Heidelberg College in Tiffin in 1956.  He was a trombone player in both high school and college bands and maintained a lifelong love of good brass and marching band music. Tom began his teaching career in Clinton Township in Seneca County in 1956, and came to Danbury in 1957 where he remained a dedicated educator and advocate for the children of the community until his retirement in 1988. He taught 5th and 6th grade, drove the daily school bus as well as band and team buses, and ran the time clock for many years at football and basketball games. Tom later received his Master’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University and became the Danbury Elementary School Principal. His slogan was “Kids are #1” and he was a passionate advocate for children, learning, and fair play.

Ruth Arleen McGee, 73, of Sandusky and formerly of Port Clinton, died Saturday, March 25, at The Cleveland Clinic. She was born July 23, 1943, in Dover, TN, the daughter of Gilbert and Juanita (Williams) Allyn.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, where visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Judith M. Reider, 70, of Port Clinton, passed away Wednesday, March 22, at her residence. She was born on December 3, 1946, on the family farm in Fremont, OH, to Rollin and Lola (Delmain) Reider.

Davids-Maus wedding

Jeff and Mariann Davids would like to announce the marriage of their daughter Allie Davids to Jordan Maus, son of Dale and Michele Maus. The couple was married on March 12, 2017 on a beautiful day in a quaint canyon at Serendipity Garden Weddings in Oak Glen, California. The ceremony was officiated by Steve Pitzer, a close family friend. The bride was accompanied by her maid of honor, Marti Babcock and bridesmaids Nicole Clabaugh and sister of the groom, Brittnee Maus. The groom was accompanied by his best man, Bob Gort and groomsmen Clayton Miller and Tommy Deal. Marlee Davids acted as the beautiful flower girl and was accompanied by the ring bearer and show stopper, Basil, the family dog. Joshua Davids served as an usher and Charles Daft as a greeter to the ceremony. The ceremony was followed by an outdoor cocktail hour and reception at Serendipity Garden Weddings.
